Clackmannan War Memorial

The Clackmannan War Memorial» View location map

The Clackmannan War Memorial is situated within open ornamental garden ground on the corner of Kirk Wynd and Kersegreen Road towards the north west corner of the town.

The memorial is constructed in stone with a square column surmounted with a mediaeval cross resting on a square pedestal on a square stepped plinth. There are four carved shields towards the top of the column and a further shield on the north face of the pedestal. There is incised lettering on stone panels to each of the four pedestal faces commemorating those lost in the first world war. Further incised inscriptions have been added to the base of the pedestal to commemorate the second world war.
