Clacks 1000 - Citizens' Panel
The Clacks 1000 was set up in early 2006 and has over 1000 members who have volunteered to take part in survey work for the partner agencies in Clackmannanshire.
The Clacks 1000 is part of a framework for community involvement set up by the Alliance.

The panel was recruited by sending a postal questionnaire to a random sample of residents drawn from the electoral register. Around two postal surveys per year will be carried out and panel members may also be involved in further survey work such as focus groups. Panel research will be managed on behalf of the Alliance by Hexagon Research & Consulting.
Survey 1 - March 2006
The first survey sought views on the following themes:
- Attitudes to Clackmannanshire
- The Local Neighbourhood
- Community Planning Priorities
- Community Safety
Survey 2 - December 2006
The second survey sought views on the following themes:
- Health and Well Being
- Physical Activity
- Healthy Eating
- Smoking
- Alcohol and Drugs
- Household Financial Management
- Your Local Community
- Volunteering
- New Developments affecting Clackmannanshire
Survey 3 - June 2007
Attitudes to Clackmannanshire 2007
The third survey sought views on the following themes:
- Local Democracy
- User Focus of Public Services
- The Future of Public Services
- Family Life in Clackmannanshire
- Attitudes to Clackmannanshire
- Community Safety
Survey 4 - April 2008
Environmental and economic development issues including:
- Perceptions of local green space and global environmental issues;
- Planned use of the new rail link;
- Recycling and energy use;
- Availability of local jobs and training opportunities.
Survey 5 - January 2009
The fifth survey of the Clacks 1000 panel titled Improving Clackmannanshire, is now complete.
The latest survey has looked a range of issues including:
- Health and Wellbeing
- Healthy Eating
- Physical Activity
- Smoking and the Smoking ban
- Alcohol Misuse
- Household Financial Management
- Community Safety and
- Attitudes towards Local Communities and Public Services
Many of these issues have been included in previous surveys, which gives us the opportunity of drawing comparisons and evidencing change in opinion and perception.
Survey 6 - July 2009
The 6th survey titled 'Attitudes to Clackmannanshire 2009' is now complete. This latest survey has looked at a range of themes including
- Effects of the Economic Downturn in Clackmannanshire
- Clackmannanshire's Image
- Training and Improving Skills
- Communication from Community Planning Partner Agencies
Survey 7
The 7th survey titled 'Families and Lifestyles in Clackmannanshire' is now complete. This survey looks at a range of themes including:
- Clackmannanshire and Alloa Town Centre
- Families and Young People
- Crime, Fear of Crime and Internet Safety
- Adult and Child Protection
- Health, Alcohol and Drugs
Survey 8
The 8th survey entitled Improving Clackmannanshire was carried out in August 2011. This survey has focused on the following broad themes:
- Voting in elections
- Clackmannanshire and the local area
- Crime/fear of crime
- Health
- Internet safety
- Adult and Child Protection
- Clackmannanshire's image
