Community Chest

What is the Community Chest?
The Community Chest is a fund to help local groups finance activities which would not otherwise be possible without the assistance.
The Clackmannanshire Community Chest has been established through the generosity of local companies Sterling Furniture and Sterling Mills Outlet Shopping Village , and is administered by the Council.
How much can be applied for?
The maximum award will not normally exceed £500.
What type of things can a grant be used for?
The award could assist towards funding for an event or to help buy an essential piece of equipment. It could also be that assistance is required to commemorate a special time or significant date.
Who can apply for funding?
The Community Chest is open to any individual, community group or voluntary organisation which is locally based, or provides a service in the area of Clackmannanshire. This will include residents associations, special interest groups, and partnerships of any not-for-profit organisations who are planning a local initiative.
Are there any restrictions on applying?
Yes. The Council believes that equality of opportunity should be the guiding principle in all activities. The awarding committee will be looking for evidence to ensure that the planned activity does not discriminate against any gender, race or creed.
The project must be approved before any expenditure is incurred: grants will not be paid for activities which have started.
