What is a Community Council?

Community Councils work with the local authority and other public bodies to determine, co-ordinate and express the views of the community it represents.

Why Have A Community Council?

The establishment and continuation of a Community Council in your area offers you an opportunity to play an important role in promoting the well-being of the neighbourhood you live in, to develop community spirit, and to inform the residents in the area you represent of matters of public concern.

How Can You Become Involved?

Petitions to establish Community Councils in Alloa; Tillicoultry, Coalsnaughton & Devonside and Sauchie & Fishcross have been accepted by the Chief Executive of Clackmannanshire Council. We are now moving to the nomination stage, of the election process, and would like to invite residents of these areas to consider becoming a Community Councillor.
The nomination process is simple - just fill out one of our nomination forms and get two people to support you. Anyone who is over the age of 16 and who appears on our electoral roll can stand.
