Imagine Alloa: Artists

Local, national and international artists are working on Imagine Alloa. Here are just some of the artists involved, watch this space for more details on the other artists involved.
Keiko Mukaide
Keiko is working on signage for Primrose Street in Alloa Town Centre.
Keiko is a glass artist from Japan. Her work is internationally known and she has had solo exhibitions in France, Denmark, The Netherlands, England and Scotland.
She lives in Scotland and is currently working with the Edinburgh College of Art.

Bill Brown
Bill will work on public art in two locations on Primrose Street along with Sandor Dobany.
Bill is a ceramic artist and head of ceramic design at Glasgow School of Art. You can view information about Bill Brown on the Glasgow School of Art's website.
Sandor Dobany
Sandor will work on public art in two locations on Primrose Street with Bill Brown.
Sandor Dobany is a ceramic artist from Hungary.
Inge Panneels
Inge has been commissioned to look at the pavement for Primrose Street, Drysdale Street and Shillinghill
Inge is an award winning glass artist from Belgium.
Her work is internationally known and can be seen on www.idagos.co.uk.
She lives in Scotland and runs her own studio.
Alec Galloway
Alec has been asked to look at the windows of the Victorian sandstone building on Drysdale Street, above the former Christies Shop. This will be a temporarily art intervention, to allow for a better appearance, until a new owner will develop the building.
Alec is a glass artist and lives and works in Scotland. Currently he is working with the Edinburgh College of Art.

Siobhan Healy
Siobhan will be working together for a piece of public art for the Library of Alloa. This will go up in the current library in Drysdale Street, but will eventually move with the library to the Speirs Centre in Primrose Street.

Alasdair Gray
Alasdair Gray is a writer and artist whose books are translated into many languages, while being studied in Scottish and foreign schools and universities. In 2010, shows of his paintings will be hung in the Talbot Rice Edinburgh University Gallery, and in the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.
He is delighted that Clackmannanshire's main library in Alloa has commissioned from Siobhan Healy his stained glass panel about Scotland's international links and foundation, and will be happy to read there.
