Lord Lieutenant of Clackmannanshire

As at 23rd May 2011, Rt Hon George Reid has been appointed as Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant for Clackmannanshire.

The Lord Lieutenant acts as the Queen’s representative in the County. The duties of a Lord Lieutenant include presiding over Royal engagements, carrying out official duties on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, and encouraging voluntary work.

The Lord Lieutenant is assisted by Depute Lieutenants in Clackmannanshire namely:

The Lord Lieutenant’s Golden Jubilee Trust

Parliament Walk, AlloaDuring 2002, the then Lord Lieutenant, Mrs Cruickshank set-up this Trust to help fund improvements to Parliament Walk in Alloa.

The walkway, which was officially opened by HRH The Duke of York on 29th November 2002, now provides a striking approach to Alloa Tower in the heart of the town.

The Trust continues to sponsor the “Citizen of the Year” award presented at the annual awards ceremony hosted by the Provost of Clackmannanshire.
