Scrutiny Committee  Bookmark and Share

The Scrutiny Committee will, subject to our approved policies:

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the Council in terms of tackling Corporate Priorities through six monthly and year end monitoring reports.
  • Review the collective Service Plans on an annual basis, evaluate priority areas and targets and make recommendations to Council in advance of their approval.
  • Consider internal and external audit reports and pursue issues of continuing or significant concern.
  • Review and monitor the Council's performance as a Best Value Council, including the consideration of Best Value and other performance reports.
  • Monitor follow-up work in order to ensure that areas in need of improvement are addressed.
  • Highlight good performance and exceptional achievement.
  • Agree an annual Scrutiny Plan (subject to the approval of the Council) to include the detail of the performance management framework and requirements for Service reports.
