Recorded Crime
In Scotland between 2005/2006 and 2006/2007 the total number of crimes recorded by police increased by less than half a percent. 419,257 crimes were recorded in Scotland in 2006/2007.
Central Police recorded 21,230 crimes within 2006/2007, a 9% increase on the previous year. Of the eight Scottish Police Forces Central Police Force had the 3rd lowest number of crimes recorded during 2006/2007 with 741 crimes per 10,000 population.
In Clackmannanshire during 2006/2007 police recorded 4,932 crimes an increase on the previous year. Out of 32 local authorities Clackmannanshire had the 5th highest crime clear up rate of 61%. This compares to a 47% clear up rate for Scotland and a 62% clear up rate for the Forth Valley area.
