Consultation
Clackmannanshire Council recognises the need to carry out ongoing, effective and meaningful consultation with our communities and especially with those who are likely to be affected differently by any of our policies and procedures.
Consultation is a priority within the Disability Equality Scheme. The involvement of people with disabilities is a key strand of our programme of work. The DDA requires us to involve people with disabilities in the development of this scheme and to make a statement describing how we have achieved this.
Throughout the preparation of the scheme consultation has been ongoing with the local Access Group. This consultation has taken the form of focus groups as well as questionnaires for service users (See Appendix 4).
People with disabilities have therefore been involved in all aspects of the development of the scheme.
The Council remains committed to the development and maintenance of effective consultation mechanisms.
