Disability Equality Scheme

Employment with the Council

The specific duties require us to have information gathering systems in relation to recruitment, development and retention of disabled employees.

We will therefore collect and analyse information on:

  • The number of staff in post and applicants who have a disability
  • The number of staff with a disability who have been promoted within the organisation
  • Employees who are involved in disciplinary procedures
  • Those who leave employment with the Council

We will use the information to help assess the effect of our functions and policies on the recruitment, training and retention of employees with a disability.

The Council achieved Two Ticks status earlier this year. Under the Two Ticks scheme all applicants with a disability who meet the essential requirements for a particular post are guaranteed an interview. We will make every effort to facilitate appropriate access arrangements for candidates with a disability to attend for interview.
