Forthcoming Elections
Most regular election dates are fixed by the relevant legislation. The exception is of course for Westminster Parliamentary Elections where the Prime Minister may call a general election at any time.
- European Parliament Election - Thursday 4th June 2009
- Scottish Parliament Election - May 2011
- Local Government Election - May 2011
Assuming there are no changes to the election regulations, the next regular Local Government elections will be combined with the Scottish Parliamentary elections in May 2011. - Westminister Parliament Election
Elections can be called by the Government at anytime but must occur at least every five years. The last parliamentary election was held on the 5th May 2005. - Community Council Elections
The next elections for members of community councils are scheduled for 2008. Many Community Councils are however still short of memebrs - so if you feel you could help contribute to the area in which you live, please get in touch with us.
