Population Projections 2008 - 2033

The Registrar General for Scotland's mid-2008 based population projections for the next 25 years for the council and NHS board areas were published in February 2010.

The Clackmannanshire Council Research and Information Team have prepared a bulletin which contains the projections at Clackmannanshire level with comparisons to other councils. See document link below.

The population projections show a rise in the Clackmannanshire population from 50,480 in 2008 to 56,430 in 2020 then a further increase to 62,577 by 2033. A population increase of 24% by 2033. This compares to an expected 7.3% increase for Scotland's population over the same period.

Clackmannanshire's working age population is expected to increase by +20% between 2008 and 2033. This compares with a projected change for Scotland of +2.1%.

Clackmannanshire's pensionable age population is projected to increase by +44% between 2008 and 2033. Scotland's projected population change is +31% for this age group.
