School Set to Rock

March 2012

AROUND 200 school children from Alva Primary School are getting ready to hit the stage this week with the musical production of "Cinderella Rockafella."

Pupils from primary four through to primary seven will be joined on stage this week by Deputy Head teacher, Allison Littlejohn, for the two-day show, which is heading for a sell-out.

Allison has a starring role in the show, although she is remaining tight-lipped about her acting and singing talents until the opening night.

The two-hour show, which is being directed and produced by principal teacher, Clare McHarg, will take place at Alva Primary School, on Wednesday, 14th March, curtain up, 7pm. The second and final show will happen on Thursday, 15th March, starting at 1.30pm.

Alva Primary School head teacher, Craig Rennie, said: "It is the first time we have put on a show at this time of year, so this is our inaugural event.

"If it is a success, and by the way the tickets have gone, it certainly looks that way, then it is something we will consider doing on a regular basis in future years."

Tickets, priced 2, are available by contacting Alva Primary School, Brook Street, Alva, on 01259 760987.
