Restoration of Supplies Progressing at a Pace
Thursday 29th November 2012
Gas is now available to 95% of properties in Dollar and 90% in Coalsnaughton with Scotland Gas Network having reconnected over 1,250 homes.
Gas became available in Tillicoultry this morning and engineers have begun the lengthy process of reconnecting the gas to all 2,000 properties. Around 15% of properties have been restored so far and 70 engineers are in the town visiting each property to turn the gas back on.
Chief Executive Elaine McPherson said: "We continue to work in close partnership with Scotland Gas Network and hope that the progress that has already been made in Dollar and Coalsnaughton continues today in Tillicoultry and Devonside.
"Until the situation is completely resolved, the Council will continue to work with partners to ensure that vulnerable people receive appropriate support.
"Voluntary organisations and individuals in the community have provided magnificent assistance, whether through providing information about people they are worried about, helping deliver heaters or personally helping out neighbours. This effort is very much appreciated by everyone who is working hard to get things back to normal."
The incident centre in Tillicoultry Community Centre remains open and SGN's customer service team can be contacted on 0845 070 1432 with any questions or queries.
