Procurement
Procurement is defined as the entire process or function associated with the buying of goods and services to support the councils business operations. Key factors of procurement include: planning or needs analysis, strategic sourcing, purchasing, order management and ongoing cost, supplier performance management through to the use, or disposal, of a product, service or asset. This is known as the Procurement Lifecycle.
Strategic Procurement is about how the full lifecycle is managed. It means Procurement must be an integral part of an organisation's business planning. It is designed to enhance the work of line managers and those who have to deliver services to customers.
This ensures that through effective Procurement the Council can obtain value for money on all goods, works and services it buys, whilst complying both with the Council's own aims and rules, as well as national and European Law.Please use the links in the Procurement menu for more information about Procurement in Clackmannanshire Council.
