Aberdona is a workshop and gallery facility in a setting that inspires a range of artistic collaborations.

A broad range of work from various projects organised by Clackmannanshire Council's Cultural and Community Service throughout the county will be on view to complement the main exhibition and illustrate the county's growing national reputation in the arts.

Exhibition area

Accompanying the main exhibition upstairs in the building, the attractive ground floor shows a small range of work made by local artists.

Pricing

The gallery acts as both a resource form which to promote art and artists and a mechanism through which to gain funds for increased provision for local people. Artists tend to offer in the region of 30% of their profit back to the gallery per sale.

Workshops

Artists are planning on running various workshops. Please contact the gallery direct or use the details at the bottom of this page.

Pottery Evening Classes

John Maguire has started Pottery Evening Classes. Students will have the chance to learn wheel thrown and hand-building techniques. Successful pots will then be glazed and fired. Classes sizes are limited to 10 and will take place at John's pottery at Aberdona.

Each course lasts 4 weeks at a cost of £80 including all clay and material costs.

Gallery Opening Hours

The gallery will be open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10.00 am - 4.00 pm. Aberdona Gallery and Workshops focus on promoting the following

  • Paintings;
  • Ceramics/Pottery;
  • Glass;
  • Silversmithing;
  • Textiles;
  • Woodwork;
  • Cards.

Resident artists will also be available during gallery opening hours.

Disabled Access

Unfortunately, the main exhibition area is upstairs, however, there is a limited display on the ground floor.
