Alloa Athletic Football Club
Founded in 1878, Alloa Athletic is Clackmannanshire's only professional football club. Currently playing in the Scottish Second Division (2008/09 season), the club enjoyed one of its most successful seasons in its long history in 1999/2000, winning the League Challenge Cup and securing promotion by taking the runner-up place in the Second Division.
