  A portal to online, chiefly English language, news sources from around the world. The material, which includes background information, is drawn largely from newspapers although also from broadcast stations, internet services, magazines, and press agencies.

  News, sport, entertainment and business service operated by telecomms company Orange.
• Drudge Report
  U.S.-based. Contains links to American columnists and news agencies around the world.
• EurekAlert!
  An online science and technology news service created by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
• Google News
  Automated digest of news from 4,500 online sources.
• Institute for War & Peace Reporting
  Includes archive and interactive maps.
• Media UK
  Links to over 800 radio stations, 500 TV channels, 1,900 magazines and 1,500 newspapers.
• NewsNow
  A selection of news agency and press reports searchable by topic and updated at five-minute intervals. The service tracks 'underground' or lesser-known online news sites as well as most online broadsheets and tabloids. Content comes from 27,000 sources in 139 countries.
• Reuters AlertNet
  Global news, with emphasis on information from disaster areas.
• RocketInfo
  Search engine and advanced search engine searches 30,000 news and information sources around the world. Includes video and audio/podcast search facility. Archive of reports is held for five days.
• Yahoo! News
  Divided into UK, Ireland, World and subject sections.
