Blue Boxes

Blue boxes and items suitable for themAs well as brown bins most households in Clackmannanshire can participate in the blue box recycling scheme. This is provided to allow you to recycle your cans, glass, paper, plastic bottles and textiles. Blue boxes are collected every week.

Items suitable for disposal in Blue Boxes

  1. All types of cans - aluminium and steel including food, pet food, drink cans, aerosols (if empty)
  2. Glass bottles and jars - wine, beer bottles, pasta sauce
  3. Clothes - and pairs of shoes
  4. Textiles - blankets, sheets, towels
  5. Clear plastic bottles (please remove bottle tops) with plastic types PET(1) or HDPE(2), the markings are on the labels or stamped on the bottle.
  6. Papers - newspapers, magazines, telephone directories, envelopes without plastic windows. Please place these in your blue bag or any carrier bag and place beside or on top of your blue box.

Items that are not to be placed in your blue box :

  1. Batteries
  2. Coloured plastic bottles
  3. Oil containers
  4. Dirty or soiled clothing
  5. Sharp objects
  6. Envelopes
  7. Sticky labels
  8. Envelopes with plastic windows

These items will be left at the kerbside.
