The rapid charger is now in operation at Kilncraigs, Alloa. This is a public car park and free to use. Please note this unit does not support Type 1 plugs.

These charging points are Council owned and available for public use. There is currently no charge for using these points. All the charging posts can charge two vehicles at the same time, but require your vehicle to be registered with the Charge Your Car network. With the exception of the spaces at Tron Court in Tullibody, all the spaces have been surface dressed in blue to highlight these spaces and deter non-electric vehicle use.

The Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV), which has been set up by the Government, is committed to promoting EVs.
Since January 2011 OLEV has been making Plug-in Car Grants of up to £5,000 available to purchase electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid or hydrogen fuelled cars.

Clackmannanshire Council currently has a fleet of 4 EVs in its drive to cut carbon emissions, save money and cut fossil fuel use.
The electric vehicles were bought with assistance from the Scottish Government's Low Carbon Electric Vehicle Procurement Support Scheme.
The Council received a grant of over £12,000 for each vehicle to make up the difference between the more costly electric vans and the traditional diesel vehicles.
