Environment and Sustainability Framework
The Clackmannanshire Alliance's Environment and Sustainability Theme Team has begun work on an Environment and Sustainability Framework.
The Framework will fulfil an important role in guiding and co-ordinating key community and agency initiatives to promote sustainability in Clackmannanshire, as part of the Community Planning Process.
As required under the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005 the Council has prepared a screening report to help it decide whether Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) of the framework is required.
The screening report was sent to the following statutory consultation authorities for their opinions on whether the strategy is likely to have significant environmental impacts:
- Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA)
- Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH)
- Historic Scotland
Having reviewed the screening report and the consultation authorities' responses, Clackmannanshire Council has made a determination that Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) is required for the Environment and Sustainability Framework.
For more information, you can view the Screening Report, related responses and determination.
The next stage in the SEA process is the scoping stage, which gives the consultation authorities the opportunity to comment on the scope and level of detail of the proposed SEA.
