Forthbank Household Waste Recycling Centre

Facilities are provided to allow you to recycle/dispose of household waste. You will need an access card, which is available to all Clackmannanshire residents. Please call 0500 545 540 for more information.

Opening Hours

Summer
  • 1st April to 30th September
  • 8.30am - 8.00pm (last admission 15 minutes before closing)
Winter
  • 1st October to 31st March
  • 8.30am - 6.00pm (last admission 15 minutes before closing)
  • Closed on Christmas and New Year's Day

Recycling Facilities

Organising your materials for disposal saves time. The range of materials that can be recycled include:

  • Aggregate (stone)
  • Batteries - car
  • Batteries - household
  • Bikes
  • Books, CDs and DVDs
  • Cans
  • Cardboard
  • Car Oil
  • Carpets
  • Clothes and textiles
  • Electricals - small, Fridges and Freezers, Monitors, White Goods,
  • Gas Bottles
  • Glass
  • Mattresses, beds, divans
  • Metal Goods
  • Paper, including yellow pages
  • Plastics - household containers
  • Plastics - large patio toys etc.
  • Soil, Turf, Green Waste
  • Tetra Paks / drinks cartons
  • Textiles
  • Tyres
  • Wood

Additional facilities exist for pesticides, and waste oil. Please ask at the gate house for assistance and direction.

Waste that can't be Recycled

In addition to the recycling facilities there is also a skip for waste that can't currently be recycled. The destination for this waste is landfill.

Black Bag Waste

Black bags full of waste will be directed to the sorting shed where they will be split and sorted for recycling.

Commercial Waste

Forthbank can accept some types of commercial waste. A prepayment system is in operation and must be used on every occasion. Please consult the Commercial Waste Charges page for more information.

Waste not accepted

Waste of the following is not accepted:

  • General builders' waste.
  • Industrial waste from construction, demolition, excavation, alteration or repair work.
  • Waste from workshops and vehicle maintenance premises.
  • Hazardous commercial waste
  • Asbestos Waste

Compost

Compost is available free to householders only. The compost comes from Polmaise, Stirling where green garden waste from brown bins is composted to a PAS 100 standard.It is suitable for use as a soil improver.There is a limit of 4 bags per customer and you need to bring your own bags and shovel.

Sorry we cannot load trailers or fill bags. Compost is subject to availability.
