Ochils Landscape Partnership Projects
The Ochils Landscape Partnership aims to manage the landscape heritage by delivering three programmes of action to make sure the distinctive landscape character is preserved whilst delivering outcomes that will make a difference:
- Conserving the historic landscape character, both built and natural features.
- Increasing community participation in local heritage while providing access, learning and training opportunities.
Your Wee Bit Hill and Glen
The Ochil glens act as the main point of access onto the Ochil hills and offer great views across the Forth Valley. It is essential to develop these to provide a more attractive and welcoming entrance to entice people to benefit from what they have to offer.
This is a programme dedicated to the promotion, celebration and enhanced access of the spectacular glens of the southern escarpment of the Ochil Hills, up towards the rolling peaks that fall along the highland fault.
By the Banks of the Devon
The Ochils Landscape Partnership area contains many rivers, streams and wetlands, which, over time, have been a catalyst for the development of the landscape.
Focus will be on the River Devon and its network of streams and burns, linking together projects to improve their quality, benefiting their habitats and recreational appeal.
This is a programme dedicated to the enhancement, promotion and conservation of the meandering River Devon and its many sources of water that push their way through the Ochils Landscape Partnership area.
The Hills of Time
It is important to promote an understanding and a genuine interest and enjoyment in what the Ochil landscape has to offer.
The many attributes that the landscape possesses - natural, built and cultural heritage - will be promoted through various forms of interpretation geared up to involve the wider community and visitors to the area.
This is a programme that takes the cultural, social and industrial heritage of the area and promotes it in an interactive, informative and inclusive manner.
