Cleanliness Standards for Council Closes
The following information details tenants' obligations to clean their close.
Close inspections are carried out on a regular basis by Housing Services.

| Ground floor | Floor should be swept and mopped once a week | Ground floor tenants | This should be done on a rota basis |
| First floor | Floor and stairs should be swept and mopped once a week | First floor tenants | This should be done on a rota basis |
| Second floor | Floor and stairs should be swept and mopped once a week | Second floor tenants | This should be done on a rota basis |
| Third floor | Floor and stairs should be swept and mopped once a week | Third floor tenants | This should be done on a rota basis |
| Close windows and ledges | Windows and ledges should be washed once per month | All tenants | This should be done on a rota basis arranged by tenants on your floor |
| Communal areas | No obstruction should be left in the close | All tenants | All tenants must ensure stairwells and communal areas are kept clear |
| Pram stores/drying areas | Should be used for the purpose they are intended for | All tenants | Any misuse or defects should be reported to the Council |
| Door entry system | Where applicable these should be fully operational | Council | Tenant and Housing officials must report defects |
| Stair lights | All lights should be fully operational | Council | Tenant and Housing officials must report defects |
| Close windows | All should be fully operational and glazed | Council | Tenant and Housing officials must report defects |
No property (including bicycles, motorcycles, prams or refuse) belonging to you or anyone residing with you or visiting you, should be stored in any of the common parts if it is likely to cause danger, nuisance or annoyance, or if it causes obstruction to anyone using the common parts. You must not do anything which prevents or hinders the use of the common parts by the other users. | |||
