Finding & Applying for a Council House

Paying Your Rent
The Income Control Team is here to help with any questions you have about rent. For information on:
- Ways to pay your rent
- Discuss problems with paying
- If you think you have paid too much rent
- Make an agreemtn to repay outstanding rent arrears
- Housing benefit overpayments
- Rechargable repairs (work on your home which you need to pay for)
- If you are a former tenant with rent arrears

Housing Repairs
Routine repairs can be requested by telephone or email. You can:
- Request a repair to your property
- Get advice about the Council's repairs policy and procedures
- Check the progress of a repair request.

Housing Capital Investment Programme
The Investment Programmes team looks after the long-term maintenance of your home and makes arrangements for the major works, which will take place in Council stock over a number of years. For information on:

Homelessness
If you are homeless or likely to become homeless then the team can assess your needs and may be able to assist you. For information on:

Anti-Social Behaviour
The anti-social behaviour phone line is a single point of contact for all of the Council's anti-social behaviour services. Trained staff will provide practical advice, reassurance and assistance to tenants and residents. The helpline takes calls about:
- Dog fouling and litter
- Threatening or abusive behaviour
- Harassment, including racial harassment
- Domestic violence
- Drunkenness in public
- Drug-related anti-social behaviour
- Shouting, swearing and general disorder
- Noise nuisance
- Vandalism and graffiti
- Neglect or abuse of property
- Abandoned vehicles
- Illegal / nuisance driving

Gas Safety
If you have gas in your home, then the Council needs to gain access every year to carry out a service. This is to ensure your own safety. Each year, we will contact you by postcard and letter to make arrangements for this service. For further information on:
