Action for Children

Action for Children (previously NCH), the children's charity, helps children and young people facing difficulties or challenges in their lives.

About Action for Children

We work with more children and young people, including those affected by poverty, disability and abuse, than any other UK charity.

The project is regulated by the Care Commission and provides housing support services to young single people aged 16-25 with accommodation needs.

Accommodation

The project has seven bed spaces. There are four bedrooms for those with high support needs, each with en-suite facilities and access to shared kitchen and lounge. There are also three bedsits which are available to young people who require limited support to enable them to manage their own tenancy.

Outreach Service

The project provides an outreach service to young people who have either moved directly to their own tenancy, have moved from the project into a tenancy or to those who are in temporary accommodation, such as B&B, awaiting either a tenancy or a place within the project.

Referrals

There is no direct access to the service and all referrals are made through Clackmannanshire Council's Homeless Team.

An assessment of each young person's needs is carried out by a Project Worker and the recommendation for accommodation is referred to the Referral Purchasing Group. This group consists of staff from Clackmannanshire Council's Homeless Team and Social Services and Project Management and this group make the final decision regarding the accommodation needs of the young person.
