Alpine Ski Leader Course

Ski Leader courseThe Alpine Ski Leader Award is the qualification required by local authorities for those who wish to take pupils and other skiing on snow. It is a 7 day course of training which involves continuous assessment. Snowsport Scotland conditions of entry to this course includes:

  • having a minimum of 20 days on snow experience
  • using of a "Self Assessment" form available online and from SNSC soon (if a candidate is in any doubt, there should be assessment by qualified instructor)
  • matching own performance with a video clip (on the SNSC website) showing skiing standard of ASL
  • using Preparation for Alpine Ski-Leader Courses to prepare candidates
  • being 18 years of age

Please note that attendance at a preparatory course is strongly recommended by SNSC for attendance on this course.
