Free School Meals
All schools in Clackmannanshire provide a lunchtime meal for their pupils. In certain circumstances these can be provided free of charge.
If you are in receipt of Child Benefit and one of the following benefites you may be able to claim free school meals for your child:
- Income Support
- Income-based Job Seekers Allowance
- Income-based Employment and Support Allowance
- Maximum Working Tax Credit and Maximum Child Tax Credit with an income below £6,420
- Child Tax Credit where NO Working Tax Credit is payable and income is less than £15,860 (as assessed by Inland Revenue)
- An asylum seeker in receipt of support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
Pupils are eligible in their own right to apply for free school meals if they are aged 16-18 and in receipt of one of the benefits noted above.
An application form is available from all schools, local CAP offices and reception staff in Kilncraigs, Greenfield and Lime Tree House. You can also view or download a Clothing Grant/Free School Meals application form from this page.
On completion, the form should be taken to your local CAP Office or Kilncraigs for verification. Application forms will only be accepted in person at Kilncraigs between the hours of 10am to 12 noon and 2pm to 4pm. When submitting an application form, proof of income will be required (refer to the notes section of the application form).
Applications can be submitted at any time during the year. The award of free school meals cannot be back dated beyond the date the application was approved. Registering entitlement to free school meals also entitles your child to free milk at morning break and free breakfast (in participating schools).
