Alloa Gymnasts to Represent Scotland - March 2012
3 Alloa gymnasts have been selected to represent their country after magnificent performances at the Scottish Regional Heats of a Men's Setworks Gymnastics Competition held in Perth on Sunday 25th March.
This prestigious competition saw 60 gymnasts, representing 7 gymnastics clubs from all over Scotland competing for a place in a Squad to represent Scotland at the British Final to be held in Birmingham in May.
Ciaran Bisland at 9yrs of age was the youngest of the 3 boys and competed at Level 2 and, after a virtually faultless performance, won the Silver medal in his category.
Connal Doogan aged 11 competed in the Level 3 category and came 4th, narrowly missing out on a medal against stiff competition.
Liam Park at 12, the oldest boy of the group competed at Level 4 against some experienced gymnasts and also achieved 4th place, again just missing out on a medal.
Selection to represent Scotland is performance based and the boys had a nervous wait until 26th March when the news came through that all three boys had been selected to join the Scottish Squad to represent their country at the Birmingham final.
Coaches Tan and Veronica are very proud of their fantastic achievement and it once again proves that Alloa Amateur Gymnastics Club continues to produce gymnasts of the highest standards, three of whom who have been awarded the highest accolade - to represent their country in a British Final which will see them competing against top level gymnasts from all over the UK.
