The Sports Development Programme has been organised by Clackmannanshire Councils Sports Development Team. The aim of the programme is to promote safe, fun and enjoyable activities which help children develop their sporting abilities.
You can download the latest Sports Development Programme, including booking form, from this page.
All primary school children will be given the Sports Development Classes booklet home in their school bags from week beginning 25th August. Copies will also be available at your local library and community centre.
All classes and afterschool clubs will start week beginning 1st September, and although enrolment for the sports development classes has been going on throughout the summer, there are still vacancies.
The Active Schools Team are promoting their activities through individual schools.
October School Holidays 2008
During the October break Clackmannanshire Councils Sports Development are providing free swimming and football throughout the week. Keep active this October!
Football
It's football all week, so why not bring your friends along and get loads of fun football games. You will be able to show off your flicks and tricks in small sided games.
- Where: Alloa Athletics Recreation Park
- When: Monday - Friday, 2.00 - 4.00 pm
- Age groups: 5 to 10 years and 11 - 16 years

Swimming
Fun sessions for children and young people under 16 years old. All children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
- Leisure Bowl
- Daily, 1.00 - 4.00 pm
- Tulligarth Leisure Complex
- Tuesday and Thursday, 11.30 am - 1.30 pm
- Alva Academy Pool
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10.00 am - 12 noon
If possible, an area will be roped off for swimming. Each session will last one hour.
Active Summer Programme
An Active Summer Programme for children is produced annually prior to the summer holidays and is available to download from this page nearer the time.

All activities are delivered by qualified registered sports coaches who comply with The Children (Scotland) Act 1995:
- Equipment is provided at each venue
- Classes are organised according to age and ability
- Offer progression to a sports club where possible
How to book!
- All activities must be pre booked.
- To book a place complete the booking form at the back of the booklet. You can also call the Booking Line on 01259 213131.
- All bookings are taken on a first come first served basis.
- If you do not hear initially your child will have been placed on a waiting list, you will be contacted as soon as a place becomes available.
- Please do not send money with your booking form.
- You will be advised of booking procedures once a place becomes available.
- Every effort will be made to inform parents in the rare event of a class being cancelled. Participants will be contacted by telephone or letter.
- Classes will not take place on a Public Holiday or official school holiday.

In the Interests of Child Safety
Children under 12 years of age should be delivered to and collected from all classes. To ensure full insurance coverage children can not attend a class unless they have paid.
Photo Policy
Sports Development classes may occasionally have photographs taken for promotional purposes. Should you have any concerns please contact Sports Development. Please tick on the booking form if you have no objections to your child having their photo taken during these classes.
