Chapter 4 - Providing for Integrated Community Infrastructure

Introduction

4.1

The provision of effective, planned infrastructure systems is of fundamental importance for both new and existing development. Services and facilities such as drainage, water supply, education, recreation, community and leisure, communications, public transport, pedestrian and cycle facilities and the road network require to be planned and a level of provision reached which effectively supports the needs of the local community.

This section of the Plan focuses on the following objectives:

Issues relating to surface water management are considered in Chapter 1 of the Plan (see Policy EN 4), while open space standards and detailed aspects of housing developments are considered in Chapter 3.
