Can planning applicants or objectors speak at the Committee?
It is not usual for applicants or objectors to speak at the Regulatory Committee Meetings, however for objectors and their agents who may wish to make verbal presentations to the Committee, the following procedures apply:
Requests to be heard should be made in writing to arrive in the office of the Development Quality Manager, Kilncraigs, Greenside Street, Alloa, FK10 1EB at least seven full working days prior to the day of the Committee. (Note: This does not include the day of the meeting).
Those who have made such a request in writing previously in an objection letter or letter of support should confirm this in writing again at least one week prior to the meeting. (Dates of all Committee Meetings are available via this web site). The letter should clearly specify:
- the application reference number;
- the proposal address;
- the proposed development;
- who is making the request to address the Committee and on whose behalf;
- a daytime contact telephone number and reserve number if possible;
- date and signature.
You will be advised if your request is permitted prior to the meeting.
There is no automatic right to be heard. This will be decided by the Committee.
Those proposing to address Committee should present themselves at the Committee Rooms, Greenfield, Alloa at the time specified.
When called to speak by the Convener, a maximum time is permitted for a deputation to put its case on the basis of valid planning matters only. Supporting papers, reports or photographs cannot be circulated to Members as part of the presentation unless with the prior agreement in writing of the Convener.
Members will normally ask questions. (No questions may be asked of Members by the deputation).
You will be thanked for making the presentation and advised that the application will be determined at its place on the agenda.
