Policies to ensure that new development and infrastructure provision support each other and ensure sustainable use of resources.
What does this mean for you?
New development will be located to take account of the need to access local facilities and public transport. Greater choice in the way you choose to travel as well as reducing the need to travel. Making our towns and villages safer with less polution and congestion.
Objectives
- To reduce the need to travel.
- To promote safe, convenient and integrated cycle, pedestrian, public transport and road network infrastructure and services.
- To promote efficient use of infrastructure and services and to promote new provision only where essential.
- To work in partnership with other agencies to achieve the Plan's Strategy.
