6.1 - Chapter 6 Introduction

6.1.1

Planning Advice Note "Structure Planning" identifies the need for regular monitoring of the Plan to take account of changes in the wider policy environment, development pressures and political priorities. There are a number of ways that the Structure Plan will be monitored: Firstly, to ensure its continuing relevance and effectiveness, by means of Sustainable Development Indicators, Annual Housing Land Audit, Annual Retail Surveys and Housing Completions. Secondly, to monitor changes in legislation, social, demographic, and economic trends will be monitored. The views of other organisations will continue to be sought throughout the Structure Plan's lifespan and in all future monitoring and reviews.
