Licence - Stage Hypnotism
The Council would prefer applicants to apply online if at all possible. It will remain possible, however, to arrange for the Licensing Administrator to send you the application form you require or for you to collect forms at the Council's main office at Greenfield. You can also download a PDF of the form on the Licensing Application Forms page and lodge the completed form with the appropriate fee and necessary supporting documents with the Licensing Administrator by post or by calling at Greenfield.
Licence summary
If you wish to show, demonstrate or perform a hypnotism act in public within Clackmannanshire, you must either have permission, or the premises must hold a public entertainment licence or a theatre licence.
Permission in Clackmannanshire is obtained from Clackmannanshire Council as the responsible local authority for issuing public entertainment or theatre licences.
You must comply with any conditions attached to an authorisation.
Eligibility Criteria
The premises must hold a public entertainment or theatre licence or the performance has been authorised by the local authority.
A permit is not required where the premises where the performance of the hypnotism is to be carried out holds a public entertainment or theatre licence. In all other circumstances, you must apply for a hypnotism permit.
Regulation Summary
The applicant must intend to carry out an exhibition, demonstration or performance of hypnotism at premises that do not hold either a public entertainment or theatre licence.

Will Tacit Consent Apply?
Yes. This means that you will be able to act as though your application is granted if you have not heard from the local authority by the end of the target completion period of 6 months from receipt of the completed application form.
