		<description><![CDATA[<p>Free activity classes are available as part of the Clackmannanshire Healthier Lives project which is funded through <a href="/community/clackmannanshirealliance/">Clackmannanshire Alliance</a>.</p><ul><li><strong>Walk Fit Challenge</strong><ul><li><strong>Gartmorn Dam (visitor centre) - Mondays 6.00 to 7.00 pm:</strong><br />Improve your fitness through our walk challenge. Start on the bronze walk and improve to silver and gold walks. Take in the great scenery round Gartmorn Dam and improve your health. Put your best foot forward and get walking with our qualified instructors. All welcome.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Salsa Class</strong><ul><li><strong>New Alva Academy - Tuesdays 6.00 to 7.00 pm:</strong><br />Salsa is a great way to keep fit and healthy as well as meeting new<br />people. This class is suitable for all ages and backgrounds and you<br />don't need a partner - come along on your own and enjoy the fun!</li></ul></li><li><strong>Gym Class</strong><ul><li><strong>Bowmar Centre - Tuesdays 1.30 to 2.30 pm:</strong><br />A mixture of body toning, aerobics and gym-based exercise, this class is suitable for all levels of fitness from beginners to advanced.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Gym Fit Class</strong><ul><li><strong>New Alloa Academy - Wednesdays 6.00 to 7.00 pm:</strong><br />Come along and exercise in the new fitness suite using brand new gym equipment. Work through a programmed class with qualified staff.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Aerobic Class</strong><ul><li><strong>Tullibody Civic Centre - Wednesdays 7.00 to 8.00 pm:</strong><br />This rhythmic aerobic exercise involves stretching and aerobic training routines to help improve flexibility, cardio-vascular fitness ans weight loss.</li></ul></li><li><strong>Walking Group</strong><ul><li><strong>Clackmannan Town Hall - Thursdays 11.30 am to 12.30 pm:</strong><br />This is an easy form of exercise and a great way to help with weight loss. 		<title>Drawing and Painting Course</title>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>Alva painter Donna McGee leads this new course, which is suitable for beginners and people with some painting/drawing experience.</p><p>The course lasts eight weeks with a Saturday class running from 2nd May and a Wednesday class starting on 29th May. The classes will last 2 hours from 1.30 - 3.30pm.</p><p>During the first six weeks the class will visit:</p><ul><li>Alva Glen</li><li>Dollar</li><li>The Woodland Park</li><li>Gartmorn Dam</li><li>Tillicoultry</li></ul><p>Here students will be encouraged to sketch and make small-scale drawings.</p><p>The remaining two weeks will be spent in the studio at Aberdona Gallery. The time in the studio will be spent examining everyone's sketchbooks and developing ideas. The intention is to take these forward into completed paintings and drawings.</p><p>Over the period of the course, participants can expect to experiment with composition, colour and scale, develop a personal visual language, develop and understanding of the use of colour, tone and composition and achieve a confident and practical approach to location drawing.</p><p>Participants will be required to provide their own material such as a sketchbook and pencil and should wear warm, waterproof clothing.</p><p><br /></p>]]></description>

		<title>Art Installation in Alloa Old Kirkyard, Kirkgate</title>

		<description><![CDATA[<p><img alt="Homecoming Scotland logo" class="right" height="175" src="/images/logos/Homecominglogo.jpg" width="250" />A group of professional artists called '<a class="external" href="http://www.hangingtogether.co.uk/">Hanging Together</a>' will create a special Homecoming art installation which will celebrate the importance of family and ancestry. It will be developed on site, within the Mar and Kellie Mausoleum. </p><h4>8th - 20th June</h4><p>Visitors can meet the artists who will be working on their installations.  </p><p>Karen Strang, a member of the group will be in Alloa Library where she will be creating small, hand-made books.</p><h4>21st June - 5th July</h4><p>The completed works will be launched on Sunday, 21st June and will be displayed in the kirkyard until 5th July.</p>]]></description>
