Beating the Blues

Beating the Blues is an easy to use self-help computer program to assist with the symptoms of anxiety and depression.

It consists of 8 weekly sessions - each being approximately 1 hour long. The sessions are completed on an individual basis, using a computer located in either Carsebridge House, Alloa or at the Alva Community Access Point (CAP). There is no charge for this service.

The program is recommended by NICEguidelines as an option of treatment for those with depression. It uses cognitive-behaviour therapy and there is good evidence of its effectiveness.

How to access the service

The service can be accessed by referral from a GP or mental health professional.
