Day Unit

Mental Health Resource Centre, Hallpark Road, SauchieThe Day Unit provides multi-disciplinary and specialised assessment, treatment and maintenance care either in groups or on an individual basis for people who are experiencing moderate, severe and complex mental health problems as well as support to their identified carers and families.

Our Philosophy and Values

Our aim is to offer individualised packages of clinical care and support to assist and enable people to remain in their home environment and to maintain and optimise their independence whilst addressing their mental health difficulties.

The team has a recovery focused philosophy and believe in supporting people as individuals to achieve their full potential in terms of their health and wellbeing.

You should expect to be treated with dignity, respect, positive regard and as a partner in your care.

What do we provide?

Getting started

If you are referred to the Day Unit you will initially be invited to meet with one or 2 members of our team of mental health professionals. You will have the opportunity to discuss any difficulties which are affecting your mental health and wellbeing and, together with you, we will plan the best way forward to help you meet your identified needs.

What we offer

The Day Unit offers various groups and individual sessions including:

We also run health maintenance clinics and a supportive activity group for people who may require longer term treatment and healthcare.

In all that we do we aim to provide the best and most appropriate service to meet your needs as an individual. For this reason the length of time that people attend the day unit will vary according to their circumstances.

A person may attend for a period of weeks or months according to their own personalised care plan.

We aim to work in collaboration with you throughout your time at the day unit including your moving on from the service when things have improved for you.

Part of the Day Unit's work is actively supporting the development and improvement of mental health services and the involvement of service users and carers in our services. We do this by taking part in forums aiming to develop and improve services locally and across Forth Valley.

How to access the service

If you feel you would benefit from our service, please contact your GP, Social Worker or other professional you may be in contact with. They will refer you via the Single Referral Pathway, and we will aim to contact you within 6 weeks of receiving the referral.
