The Clackmannanshire Bridge

Clackmannanshire BridgeThe Clackmannanshire Bridge across the Forth opened on Wednesday, 19th November 2008. Clackmannanshire campaigned for a new crossing for many years and is delighted that it is now complete.

A celebratory poem was written by Writer in Residence, Tom Murray entitled On the Opening of the Clackmannanshire Bridge.

Further information on the bridge opening can be found below:

The film below is a virtual reality fly-by of the bridge.

The first half of the film starts on the approach to the Kincardine Bridge, follows the route over the new bridge, into Clackmannanshire and to the Gartarry roundabout, before returning the journey. The second half of the film shows the route from a higher level, starting in Kincardine, crossing the older bridge, and heading back into Clackmannanshire over the Clackmannanshire Bridge.

You can view the film using the media player below. Please note this requires the Adobe Flash Player, which can be downloaded free of charge from the Adobe website.
